Pennsylvania Casinos Continue To Thrive, With February Revenue Up Nearly 9%

Gambling revenue in the state of Pennsylvania has continued to grow. In February, the state saw an 8.6 percent monthly increase in total gambling revenues.
According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s revenue report, the state’s twelve casinos saw about $68.1 million in table game revenues compared to last year, which was $63.9 million.
Pennsylvania took in almost $9 million in tax revenues from table games alone in February. On average, 1,171 tables were being operated daily in local casinos.

Here are the three casinos that saw the largest increases in total gambling revenues for February:
- Presque Isle Downs and Casino – 17.99%
- Mount Airy Casino Resort – 16.90%
- Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem – 14.09%
Pennsylvania gambling revenue summary for February
For the entire month of February, only two casinos saw down months compared to January. Harrah’s saw an overall decrease of -2.98% and Rivers at -0.62%.
This month produced over $107 million in tax dollars for Pennsylvania – one of the best months in the history of casino gambling within the state.
The Morning Call interviewed spokesman for the PA Gaming Control Board Richard McGarvey, earlier this month and expressed enthusiasm for the excellent month:
“Every facility went up and that doesn’t happen very often. They had the extra day, but it was a big month even without that.”
